Ageno 2016 - Malvasia di Candia

Very much a cult wine from the tour de force that is Elena Panteleoni. The fullest orange wine on our list, this is an experience. The wine is named after the founder of the winery. It sits on the skins for three months, then half the wine is matured in steel, the other half in used French barriques. The wine is then aged in bottle for two years. This all results in a wonderful deep amber, copper colour. Balsamic, black tea, orange peel, spice, Turkish delight and roses. This is something to be savoured over a few hours.
